The year turns once more and finds me gearing up for another season of shows, meeting new friends and tracking down old acquaintances. The focus of my shows has definitely shifted to the West, specifically Colorado and New Mexico. Its not that I don't have many wonderful appreciative customers on the East Coast, but rather a function of where I find myself during the Summer Art Show Season. Ever since I moved to the East I have wanted to spend more time out west and now I can.
The house Becky and I bought in Saguache two years ago has proved to be a wonderful thing. We really enjoyed being there last summer and look forward to getting back there soon.
The old Smith Market, which is attached to our Saguache house, now sports a new sign. Smith Market Gallery. The sign was skillfully painted by a Saguache artist friend, Dale Enquist, last August. Sales began before the sign was dry. We had an open house and were part of the first annual Saguache Art Festival. Many folks dropped by to say hello, see my work, and share their memories of time spent shopping in Mayor Floyd Smith's grocery store. I found the old sign that Mayor Smith had on the front of the store and it now serves as a divider between the gallery space and my studio area.
This years plans for the new enterprise include being open more and including some works from a few of the very talented artists I have come to know in the area.
This years show schedule is pretty full and is current as of now. I hope to see you this year. Thank you for visiting my site and reading this far. Contact me any time, stop by the gallery, call, or come to one of the shows. I look forward to meeting you [again].
